Ensuring Safe Charging: How NTC Temperature Sensor Achieves High-accuracy Temperature Control in Charging Pile

Time:2025-11-24 Views:44

In new energy vehicle charging pile, EXSENSE Electronics NTC temperature sensors are core components for achieving high-accuracy temperature management. By monitoring the real-time junction temperature at key parts of the charging pile, the NTC provides reliable temperature data for the safe control, efficiency optimization, and lifespan extension of the charging system.

When the charging pile starts, NTC temperature sensors monitor the temperature of the charging module, charger head, and pile body. If abnormal temperature rises occur during charging due to high current transmission or device loss, the NTC resistance signal is immediately converted via ADC and transmitted to the control module. The control module then performs cooling or power adjustment based on the temperature data, preventing risks such as insulation failure or component aging caused by overheating, thereby ensuring charging safety and extending equipment life. Specifically:

1. Charging Module: EXSENSE temperature sensors are installed on the heat sinks inside the charging module to monitor the operating temperature of components like power modules. When the NTC detects temperature exceeding the preset safe threshold, the control module immediately triggers air cooling/liquid cooling or frequency reduction protection.

2. Charger Head: The NTC is typically installed on the charger head and placed close to the current terminal to directly sense temperature changes at the connection between the charger and the charging port. This prevents failure due to overheating and ensures long-term reliable contact with the charging port.

3. Charging Pile Body: The current contactor contacts and busbar connection points on the high-current paths inside the pile are also potential overheating risk points. Installing NTC in the charging pile allows timely detection of temperature rises caused by increased contact resistance due to looseness or corrosion, preventing problems before they occur.

As a key part of the thermal management safety protection network in new energy vehicle charging pile, the EXSENSE NTC temperature sensor converts the physical quantity of "temperature" into an electrical signal that can be accurately analyzed by the control module through multi-point layout. With its high sensitivity, the EXSENSE temperature sensor ensures that the control module can quickly respond to subtle temperature changes, such as the gradual temperature rise caused by poor contact in the charger, providing early warning before the temperature reaches dangerous critical points and allowing valuable time for the control module to execute protective measures. In addition, the high reliability of the charging pile NTC ensures that its electrical performance is not easily affected by ambient temperature, maintaining stable temperature monitoring capability and providing continuous, accurate temperature data support for the charging pile. Moreover, EXSENSE charging pile NTC temperature sensor features excellent anti-interference capability, allowing accuracy and stable temperature data transmission even in complex electromagnetic environments, avoiding misjudgment caused by control module receiving erroneous signals due to external interference.
