NTC Temperature Sensor Guards Thermal Safety Boundary of EV Drive Motor

Time:2026-02-06 Views:6

In the complex internal environment of EV drive motor, risks such as thermal aging of stator winding insulation materials and high-temperature demagnetization of permanent magnets make temperature monitoring no longer a simple functional option, but a necessary condition to ensure the continuous and safe operation of the power system. Among them, EXSENSE drive motor NTC temperature sensor is indispensable.

With the help of EXSENSE temperature sensors, the heat load status of the drive motor can be monitored in real time and fed back to the control system to ensure the driving safety of EV. Specifically, NTC temperature sensors are installed at the end of the stator winding, which often becomes a hot spot due to its relatively poor heat dissipation conditions and high current density. Placing NTC here can obtain temperature data more accurately and assist the stator winding in solving heat dissipation bottleneck. In addition, the EXSENSE temperature sensor is installed in the stator groove, which is due to the fact that it carries the operating current in a straight section, and its temperature rise directly reflects the junction temperature of the drive motor. The addition of NTC can accurately capture the operating temperature in the stator groove and provide a basis for the operation judgment of the control system.

The application of EXSENSE drive motor NTC temperature sensors in the stator builds a solid temperature defense line for the long-term safe and reliable operation of EV:

1. Master the heat state of the drive motor to ensure that its working temperature is always in the appropriate working range, so that the efficiency and reliability of the motor can achieve a better balance;

2. Provide key data support for motor fault diagnosis, through analysis can find local overheating hazards in time, and warn potential faults can be warned in advance;

3. Extend the service life of the drive motor, avoid the failure of the insulation layer due to long-term overheating, and reduce the risk of short circuit.

EXSENSE drive motor NTC temperature sensor is ideal for real-time temperature monitoring of stator because:

1. Fast thermal response speed, achieve efficient temperature early warning

EXSENSE temperature sensor has excellent sensitive and can instantly capture subtle fluctuations in winding temperature. When the drive motor is in the sudden acceleration condition, the winding temperature rises rapidly in a short period of time, and the NTC will quickly detect its temperature change and transmit the signal to the control system, and the system will immediately start the heat dissipation system to avoid overheating damage caused by excessive temperature. This rapid response capability prevents irreversible faults caused by short-term overloads and provides real-time guarantee for the effective output of the drive motor.

2. Small dimension, adaptable to compact winding structure

The overall dimension of EXSENSE drive motor NTC is small, reducing the intrusiveness of the motor‘s original structure. While traditional NTC temperature sensor may affect the heat dissipation path or electromagnetic field distribution of the winding, while EXSENSE drive motor NTC temperature sensor minimizes interference with the motor‘s working environment, ensuring that the monitoring data can truly reflect the actual heat state of the winding.
